FUNDRAISING
WWI EGA
We’ve launched a fundraising campaign to bring this piece of history home to the Ceremonial Garden.
During World War I, Marines of the 11th Regiment, Fifth Marine Brigade, serving in France, molded an eagle, globe, and anchor in intricate detail and proudly displayed it at the entrance of Camp Montierchaume, France, marking their presence there. Recently, the emblem was returned to the Marine Corps. Over a century old, the relic is a testament to the perseverance, strength, and honor of the Marines who fought in France during the Great War.

The piece will be professionally restored, protected, and placed in the rock area of the garden where it will have a permanent home for all Cannon Cockers, past and present to reflect on the bravery and tenacity of the Marines of WWI.
This project is estimated to cost $35,000 to complete.
