11TH MARINES CEREMONIAL GARDEN

Bringing History Home: The WWI, Eagle, Globe, and Anchor

EGA at the Camp Montierchaume entrance, WWI 1918

This piece of history was recently acquired by the 11th Marines and will soon be placed in a position of honor in our Ceremonial Garden. But before that can happen, we must raise the funds to build a permanent, respectful memorial that will preserve this historic piece for generations to come.

The current condition is in need of restoration

The 11th Marines Ceremonial Garden was recently in the FA Journal, published by the U.S. Field Artillery Association! The article highlights a powerful piece of Marine Corps history that we’ve been entrusted with—a WWI-era Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem made by the Marines of D & E Companies of the 11th Marine Regiment, 5th Marine Brigade. Smedley's Brigade.

This iconic symbol has been acquired by the 11th Marines and will be given a permanent place of honor in our Ceremonial Garden. But we need your help to make that vision a reality.

We have launched a fundraising effort to restore and emplace this piece of history within the Garden, preserving it for future generations of Marines, families, and all who visit.

This is more than a restoration—this is a tribute to our Corps' legacy, to the Marines who have gone before us, and to the sacred traditions we continue to uphold.

No one is left behind and no one is forgotten
